Steamat® by Imerys is an innovative, cost-effective matting agent based on engineered talc-chlorite. It possesses specially defined particle size distribution which diffuses light with high efficiency from the paint film. It exhibits lamellar morphology, specific mineralogy and high apparent density. It offers easy dispersion and good mud-cracking resistance while maintaining opacity and porosity. Steashield™ 10 by Imerys is an ultra-lamellar talc. It offers minimized settling, corrosion- and salt-spray- resistance. It is easy to formulate and provides exceptional barrier properties to stain-blocking paints and corrosion resistant coatings including coil and epoxy coatings. The particle shape of SteaShield™ 10 creates physical barrier which protects the paint substrate by impairing diffusion of water and corrosive agents through the film.
